Offering a little more in the way of amenities than some other beaches, Lindbergh Beach on St. Thomas is a good choice if you're looking for somewhere calm and quiet to relax and enjoy the sun and surf. Situated at the Island Beachcomber Hotel, it is a popular hangout for locals, and even has been known to host political rallies or other gatherings.

There are restrooms available, as well as a bath house, and drinks are served right on the beach for those that like to enjoy a little luxury. There are also restaurants and bars at the hotels on the beach which are available for use.

The surf here is usually calm, which makes it a great place to hang out with the kids. The playground located on the end of the beach makes it all the more family friendly. There are also rentals available for the usual water sports equipment.

Snorkeling isn't going to be a good bet, as there are almost no rocks to be found in this sandy bay. No rocks means no coral, and no coral means no concentration of fish. But it's still a perfect place to spend a day in the sun reading a book or enjoying the ocean.
